Slimy smily.

In an effort to be truly ready for all things departure, I have tracked down birth certificates, immunization records, school transcripts, social security numbers, and fold-flat kitchenware.  One of the obstacles in our planning has been the fact that I have two kids in orthodontics and won't be home for, well, who knows.

Today the two brace-teethed kiddos got their braces removed and were fitted for retainers.  Their orthodontist thought it best to just put in retainers to keep things in place and return them to braces when we are all settled back into life somewhere.  So, what we thought would be 15 minute appointments turned into 2 hours.  Their teeth are officially slimy feeling after having rough brackets in there for the past 18 months or so.
